A little about yourself? I am a Chicago native, but I am currently attending the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program for fashion design! DAAP is the best thing that has ever happened to me (despite spending 40 hours working on one project). I am currently interning at Mary Helen Clothing and it has been a huge learning experience and has taught me an unfathomable amount. Aside from my life in DAAP & working, I enjoy spending time creating art, laying on the beach, and grabbing some good food with even better people. I do not have much free time, but the free time that I do have I love spending outside running or sitting on my balcony.
What gets you going? Coffee. And then more coffee.
Why fashion? Why NOT fashion? I cannot think of one thing in the world I would rather be doing. I get to express myself through the clothing I create. Mixing my love for art & my love for clothing I have honestly found the perfect place I need to be…a fashion design major.
Why Mary Helen Clothing is a PERFECT first CO-OP? Want to learn how to run a small business? Mary Helen Clothing. Want to improve your sewing abilities? Mary Helen Clothing. Enhance your marketing skills? Improve your Adobe Suite skills? Learn how to use Garage Band or Excel? Need to know how to order fabrics, deal with boutiques, or keep track of inventory? Mary Helen Clothing will teach you it all!
Where I see myself in 10 years? This is always the toughest question for me. I can’t ever decide if I want to be styling Giuliana Rancic before she hits the E! News stage, doing costume design for Beyoncé (I wish), or using my ideas to help design for a brand. I think I need a little time (or a few years) for that question.
Can you leave us with a few fun facts? 1. I love animals, more than one ever should. 2. I listen to talk radio every morning. 3. I am huge Chicago Blackhawks fan. Go Hawks!

Has your son or daughter ever dreamed about becoming a fashion designer or about someday making their own clothes? Come join us for a week long adventure where we will be teaching everything your little one needs to know to create their own fashion line. Worried they don’t have enough skills? This camp is designed for beginners and is here to teach children all of the steps that are taken to make their own fashion line! We will be teaching everything from the early stages of creating a fashion line: like how to create an inspiration board and sketch clothing designs to how to teaching them how to cut out patterns and sew them together to create their own look!
